Membership

Membership to a NCRI Clinical Studies Group (CSG) or subgroup covers a wide range of specialisms including, but not limited to, clinical and medical oncologists, statisticians, nurses, surgeons, pathologists. Each CSG also has two consumer representatives.

CSG Chairs

CSG Chairs are appointed for 3 years in the first instance, with an option to reapply for a further 3 years.

Recruitment takes place once a year, depending on vacancies.

Scientific members

Membership is for 3 years in the first instance, with an option to reapply for a further 3 years.

There are two rounds of recruitment each year, usually in early summer and winter.

Consumer members

CSG consumers are appointed for 3 years in the first instance, with an option to extend membership for a further 2 years, once activity is reviewed.

Recruitment takes place once a year, depending on vacancies.

Subgroup members

Subgroup members are recruited directly by the Subgroup Chair. Core membership of a subgroup is limited to 10 people.

Trainee scheme

The Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs) Trainee scheme provides the opportunity for junior researchers to experience the workings of a CSG or Advisory Group. Trainees are appointed for 18 months in the first instance with an option to join a CSG subgroup thereafter, depending on vacancies.

Recruitment takes place once every 18 months.
